Whoopsie Daisy

Whoopsie Daisy is a beautifully illustrated children’s picture book about a real three-legged heading dog called Daisy. It is aimed at 5-7 year olds and encourages children to have confidence in themselves. In this story Daisy compares herself to the other heading dogs who work for the farmer. How can she do all the things they can when she only has three legs and they have four. As they read they see the farmer calling her Whoopsie Daisy whenever she tries to do something and doesn’t quite make it. They will see that when Daisy saves the sheep from danger in a terrible storm she was able to do all the things she didn’t think she could do. She didn’t need to compare herself to others after all. An important lesson for us all!
